Interview with Ingela of Atlantic Perfumes

Q1. Atlantic Healthline was launched during the COVID-19 pandemic—what was the motivation behind the founding of this company?

A. The founding of Atlantic Healthline during the COVID-19 pandemic was driven by a deep sense of responsibility and urgency. At a time when the world was facing a critical shortage of essential hygiene products, we recognized the immediate need for reliable, and high-quality sanitization solutions. Our goal was not only to respond to a public health crisis but also to contribute meaningfully to the wellbeing of the community. By developing and distributing effective hand sanitizers and hygiene products, we positioned Atlantic Healthline as a company born out of necessity and guided by purpose. What began as a health focused initiative soon evolved into a wider mission, eventually expanding into the fragrance industry, where we now continue to combine quality, safety, and innovation under the name Atlantic Perfumes.

Q2. You must have a special affection for the perfume business as you run it with your father. Please tell me about the vision you hope to achieve through this business.

A. Yes, working alongside my father in the perfume business is something I hold very close to my heart. It’s more than just a business, it’s a shared passion that bridges generations, combining tradition with innovation. Our vision is to create fragrances that not only evokes emotion but also tell stories of places, memories, and identity. Most importantly, our fragrances are for everyone. Through our brand, we aim to offer more than a product, we want to create experiences that connect with people on a personal level. Ultimately, our goal is to build a fragrance house that’s rooted in authenticity, creativity, and global reach, while always honoring the values we’ve built this venture upon as a family.

Q3. When the perfume was showcased at the last DJFW, the scent I experienced was so unique that I still remember it. What is the age group that most commonly purchases the perfume, and what is the name of the most popular signature scent

A. At DJFW, we had the pleasure of showcasing two of our new signature collections, Aurium Perfumes and Scent de Emarat. Rather than focusing on a specific age group, these collections were designed to cater to distinct markets and olfactory preferences.

Aurium is our niche luxury perfume line, comprising four carefully crafted variants—two for men and two for women. This collection is tailored for individuals who truly appreciate the depth and complexity of scent. Each fragrance is developed with a layered composition, allowing wearers to experience a refined evolution of notes, from the top to the heart and finally the base. Offering a sensory journey rather than just a momentary impression.

On the other hand, Scent de Emarat is a deeply rooted oriental collection that pays homage to the rich, bold, and enduring scents of Arabia. It draws inspiration from traditional perfumery while incorporating modern blends to create powerful, expressive fragrances that leave a lasting trail. This collection resonates strongly with those who appreciate the warmth of oud, the richness of amber, and the heritage of Middle Eastern fragrance craftsmanship.

While it’s difficult to name a single most popular scent, within Aurium, Floreo and Sapphire Sails have received exceptional feedback. From Scent de Emarat, Oud Al Mubakkar stands out as a favorite among customers who seek the oriental touch. Beyond these two collections, Solomon’s Treasure and Crimson Purple have emerged as top hits across a broader audience, gaining popularity for their unique compositions and versatility.

Q4. These days, many Korean models and influencers are showing interest in Dubai. I'm curious whether Atlantic Perfumes is also interested in promoting the brand by partnering with Korean models as ambassadors.

A. Absolutely! At Atlantic Perfumes, our core philosophy is that fragrance is a universal language. As I mentioned before, our creations are designed for everyone, regardless of background or region. We believe scent is deeply personal yet globally resonant, and this belief drives our desire to connect with diverse audiences around the world.

The elegance, creativity, and aesthetic sensibility that Korean ambassadors bring align beautifully with our own brand ethos. If the opportunity arises to collaborate with Korean talent, we would be genuinely excited to showcase our fragrances through their perspective. It would be a unique cultural exchange where our scents meet Korean storytelling, visual identity, and global reach.

Such partnerships wouldn’t just enhance brand visibility, they would also allow us to explore new dimensions of how our fragrances are experienced and interpreted, opening the door to cross cultural resonance and deeper emotional engagement.

Q5. If a Korean company proposes a partnership and event collaboration with Atlantic Perfumes, is there a particular business model or direction you would like to pursue locally?

A. If a Korean company proposes a partnership or event collaboration with Atlantic Perfumes, we would be very open to exploring it, especially if the collaboration aligns with our core values of quality, inclusivity, and cultural storytelling through fragrance.

In terms of business direction, we would be particularly interested in a co-branded experience, something that highlights both brands' identities while appealing to a shared audience. This could include pop-up events, limited-edition collaborative fragrances, or immersive scent experiences that blend Korean artistry and aesthetics with our storytelling approach rooted in heritage and innovation.

Locally in Korea, we would ideally pursue a selective distribution model through curated boutiques that cater to Korea’s market, rather than mass-market retail, to maintain the exclusivity and niche nature of our collections. We also see great value in working with Korean influencers and scent stylists who can authentically introduce our brand to a Korean audience in a culturally resonant way.

Ultimately, our goal would be to build a meaningful, long-term partnership that introduces Atlantic Perfumes not just as a product, but as a unique sensory journey that Korean consumers can emotionally connect with.
