The rules for using this site, and what you may do with what we publish.
These terms govern your use of the Gulf Korean Times website. By browsing the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site.
Gulf Korean Times is published by GKT Media, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Where these terms say "we", "us" or "our", they mean GKT Media.
Using the site
You may read, search, share and link to anything we publish, for personal or newsroom use. You may quote us with attribution.
You may not:
- republish substantial parts of our journalism, in any language, without our written permission;
- use automated tools to scrape or copy the site at a scale that degrades it for other readers;
- use our name, masthead or logos to imply that we endorse a product, event or organisation;
- attempt to gain access to the newsroom system, any account, or any part of the site that is not public;
- submit anything unlawful, defamatory, or designed to interfere with the site's operation.
Our content and other people's
Articles, photographs, page design and the Gulf Korean Times name are owned by GKT Media or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and trademark law.
Some material is not ours. Wire copy carries the agency's byline — items credited to WAM (Emirates News Agency), for example, remain the property of that agency and are republished under its terms. Photographs and logos supplied by embassies, cultural centres, partners and advertisers remain theirs. Where you want to reuse third-party material, ask the owner, not us.
If you believe something we have published infringes your rights, write to jung@gulfkoreantimes.com identifying the material and your claim, and we will look into it promptly.
Accuracy
We publish in good faith and correct errors when we find them or when they are pointed out to us. Even so, reporting is produced to deadline: event dates, venues, prices and opening times change, and details supplied by organisers can be wrong. Confirm anything you intend to rely on — particularly travel, ticketing and visa information — with the organiser or the relevant authority before acting on it.
The site is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Events, listings and directories
Event listings are published as a service to readers. We are not the organiser unless the listing says so, and we do not sell tickets. Any booking, payment or refund is a matter between you and the organiser.
Advertising and partner content
The site carries paid advertising and lists partners and sponsors. Advertising is placed in clearly labelled areas and is kept separate from editorial. Any item that is paid for or produced in partnership is marked as such.
An advertisement or a partner listing is not an endorsement. We are not responsible for the goods, services or claims of advertisers.
Links to other sites
We link to embassies, consulates, cultural centres, partners and other outlets. Those sites are outside our control and have their own terms and privacy practices. Following a link is at your own discretion.
Material you send us
If you send us a story tip, a letter, an event listing or a photograph, you confirm that it is yours to send and that we may publish and edit it. We are not obliged to publish anything, and we do not undertake to keep unsolicited material confidential unless we have agreed to do so.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site, including lost profit, lost data, or reliance on information published here. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date below shows when they last changed, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, and the courts of Dubai have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
