At just 17 years old, Dubai-based student Marwa Chami is gaining attention as an internationally published author and dedicated figure skater, now preparing to pursue her academic and athletic future in South Korea.
Currently completing the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme, Marwa actively balances her studies with intensive figure skating training and her work as an author. Her journey reflects strong determination, resilience, and a sincere commitment to personal growth.
Marwa published her first book, Everything Works Out in the End, which explores themes of overcoming challenges, self-discovery, and emotional healing. Through sharing her personal experiences, she hopes to inspire young people to remain hopeful during difficult moments and continue moving forward. Her work has reached international readers and is available at Kyobo Book Centre in Korea.
Alongside her writing career, Marwa trains consistently in figure skating with the goal of pursuing the sport professionally. Looking ahead, she hopes to combine her passion for sports and business by studying Business Administration and eventually becoming a sports entrepreneur, with the long-term vision of building a global sports-focused company.
Her interest in Korea developed through her admiration for the country’s culture of discipline, perseverance, and excellence. Inspired by Korean athletes, media, and values, she began learning the Korean language and actively engaging with Korean culture. She is currently preparing applications to Korea’s SKY universities while continuing her athletic training and personal projects.
Marwa also hopes to join professional figure skating clubs in Korea and contribute to strengthening cultural exchange between Korea and the UAE through her work and future achievements.
“I really believe everything happens for a reason, and every challenge helps us grow into a stronger version of ourselves,” she shared with a bright smile. “I’m excited to learn, grow, and follow my dreams in Korea and I hope my journey can give others courage to believe in themselves too.”
As she prepares for university admission and continues her training, Marwa represents a new generation of globally minded youth driven by passion, resilience, and a hopeful vision for the future.
