The Disney+ Original Korean series “A Shop for Killers Season 2” is set to return with more intense action, a larger-scale storyline, and a global cast lineup.

On July 20, an online press conference was held in Seoul, featuring cast members Lee Dong-wook, Kim Hye-jun, Jo Han-sun, Geum Hannah, Kim Min, Jung Yun-ha, Hyunri, Masaki Okada, along with director Lee Kwon. The team shared details about the new story, characters, and behind-the-scenes experiences from the production of Season 2.

Following the explosive global response to Season 1, “A Shop for Killers Season 2” expands its stylish action universe with a bigger scale, more dynamic storytelling, and a wider variety of high-impact action sequences.

Lee Dong-wook and Kim Hye-jun Return to Face the Global Organization ‘Babylon’

Season 1 followed Jian (played by Kim Hye-jun), a college student who inherits her late uncle Jin-man’s (played by Lee Dong-wook) mysterious online shopping mall. What appeared to be an ordinary shopping platform was revealed to be a secret weapons trading hub for professional killers, creating a fresh and shocking premise that captivated audiences worldwide.

The season finale revealed that Jin-man, who was believed to be dead, was actually alive, raising anticipation for the next chapter.

In Season 2, Jin-man, who had faked his own death, becomes the target of “Babylon,” the global assassination organization he was once connected to. Together with Jian, he begins a powerful counterattack against the world’s most dangerous killers.

Geum Hannah, who plays the S-class killer So Min-hye, revealed that she underwent intensive preparation to fully embody her character, including wire-action training and obtaining a motorcycle license.

During the press conference, Geum Hannah shared her passion for the role, saying,“I practiced the action choreography I learned through YouTube and prepared extensively to build the character.”

She previously gained strong recognition for her impressive action performance in Season 1, winning the Best Supporting Actress Award at the 2024 Blue Dragon Series Awards.

Global Collaboration Between Korean and Japanese Actors: Masaki Okada Makes His Korean Drama Debut

Season 2 also welcomes Japanese actor Masaki Okada, who joins the series as a new assassin character named J. His appearance has drawn significant attention from global fans.

Portraying a unique character who combines a dangerous aura with a curious and childlike personality, Okada shared his thoughts on making his first appearance in a Korean production.

“Action is not simply about movement; it is a form of communication between actors,” Okada said.“Working with Korean actors allowed me to discover a new charm and perspective in action performances.”

K-Drama Expands Beyond Romance to Global Action and Genre Content

K-dramas are now expanding beyond traditional romance genres and strengthening their presence in the global entertainment market through diverse genres including action, thriller, and fantasy.

With its powerful storytelling, stylish action sequences, and international cast collaboration, “A Shop for Killers Season 2” is expected to further elevate the global popularity of K-Action content and attract audiences around the world.

In particular, across the Middle East region, including the UAE, consumption of Korean content has been rapidly increasing through global OTT platforms such as Netflix and Disney+. Interest in K-content featuring powerful action sequences and unique storytelling continues to grow among regional audiences.

Combining Korean-style storytelling with a global action approach, “A Shop for Killers Season 2” is expected to deliver a fresh and captivating experience to K-content fans not only across Asia but also throughout the Middle East and global markets.
