Dubai, United Arab Emirates – SUNDARA Art & Cultural Exchange proudly presents I Connect, Therefore I Am, a thought-provoking group exhibition running from June 18 to July 14 at The Warehouse, Goshi Warehouses Village, WH57, Dubai.

Curated by Hana Sammak Kurdi, founder of SUNDARA Art & Cultural Exchange, the exhibition brings together artists from Lebanon, Iran, Syria, and Tunisia, all of whom are currently living and working in the United Arab Emirates. Through diverse artistic practices and cultural perspectives, the exhibition explores the profound role of connection in shaping human identity, belonging, and collective experience.

The exhibition title, I Connect, Therefore I Am, reflects the belief that connection is the invisible architecture that sustains our existence. It binds body to spirit, self to place, ancestors to descendants, humans to animals, idols to worshippers, and strangers to one another. In a world increasingly challenged by division, displacement, and uncertainty, connection emerges as both a bridge and a form of resilience, enabling individuals and communities to rediscover their shared humanity.

The participating artists come from regions marked by histories of transformation, resilience, and upheaval. Their journeys to the UAE represent acts of connection in themselves—between homeland and adopted home, memory and reinvention, personal narratives and collective histories. Living within one of the world's most culturally diverse societies, these artists navigate and negotiate evolving identities while contributing to a vibrant creative dialogue.

Through painting, mixed media, installation, and other contemporary forms, the exhibition invites visitors to enter an architecture of connection. The works on display transcend geographical and cultural boundaries, carrying ancestral echoes into the present while creating spaces where unfamiliar stories become deeply personal and universally relatable.

Visitors are encouraged not only to observe the artworks but also to experience them as living expressions of empathy, memory, belonging, and human interconnectedness. The exhibition highlights the unique ability of art to bridge distances, foster understanding, and create meaningful encounters between people from different backgrounds.

Commenting on the exhibition, curator Hana Sammak Kurdi stated:

"Connection is the invisible architecture that holds us together. Art is one of the most powerful languages through which we can experience that connection. Through this exhibition, we hope visitors will discover parts of themselves within the stories of others and reflect on the meaning of community, belonging, and our shared humanity."

More than an exhibition, I Connect, Therefore I Am serves as a celebration of the human spirit and the relationships that define our existence. It reminds us that art is not merely something to be viewed—it is something to be felt, shared, and lived.

Because to connect is to be.
