King Salman of Saudi Arabia discharged from hospital a week after testing

King Salman Bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia was discharged from hospital a week after being hospitalized for colonoscopy and other tests.

According to the AFP news agency SPA, Saudi Arabia's state news agency SPA reported on the 15th (local time) that 86-year-old King Salman walked out of the hospital specializing in King Farijal in Jeddah with a cane and left surrounded by officials including Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.

"He was discharged after undergoing a medical examination and successful treatment and recovery", SPA said on Twitter.

Saudi Arabia has been working for years to quell speculations about the health of the elderly king since 2015.

A week ago, the state media reported that the king's colonoscopy result was 'ok' and the medical staff 'recommend him to a hospital for rest.'

King Salman's latest visit to the hospital was in March, when he was tested at the same hospital and had a peacemaker battery replaced.

Previously, King Salman underwent gallbladder removal surgery in 2020.
