1. How do you feel about participating in the 18th DIFC exhibition, which features over 100 artists?
I’m incredibly honored to be part of such a prestigious event. The DIFC exhibition has a reputation for bringing together a diverse group of artists from around the world.
It's always inspiring to see how different cultures and perspectives come together to create a powerful collective energy. I’m eager to share my work and connect with fellow artists and visitors who truly appreciate and engage with art in a meaningful way.
2. You have been practicing art in Dubai for over 20 years. Do you have any plans to host a workshop that allows you to connect with audiences through art and community events?
Absolutely! One of my passions is engaging with different communities and using art as a bridge to foster deeper understanding. I believe art can be a catalyst for dialogue and connection, especially in a place as vibrant and multicultural as Dubai.
I’ve been considering creating workshops that blend the concepts of architecture and mixed-media art. Due to numerous requests from visitors and fellow artists, I will be announcing these workshops on my official art profile on Instagram (@RozanArtworks). Through these sessions, I hope to share my techniques and allow participants to create art that reflects their personal experiences. These workshops will invite diverse voices into the creative process and demonstrate how art can be a powerful medium for expression and empathy.
3. The UAE and the broader Middle East host numerous cultural exchange events, giving artists like yourself the opportunity to introduce your work to a wider audience. What message do you aim to convey to both Arabs and international viewers through your art?
Through my art, I want to emphasize the importance of authenticity and connection. I once heard these profound words: "There is no one like you, there has never been someone like you, and there shall never be anyone like you. Therefore, know yourself, be yourself—authenticity is everything."
My work reflects the journey of embracing both individuality and shared humanity. I want to highlight that art has no borders—it is a universal language. Whether you are from the Arab world or any other part of the globe, my art seeks to create moments of reflection and unity—moments where we can all experience a sense of peace and belonging.
4. What are your future aspirations, challenges, and plans as an artist?
My future aspirations involve continuously evolving as an artist while staying true to my core values of authenticity and innovation. I hope to explore new mediums and experiment with more interactive art forms that engage the viewer on a deeper, more personal level.
One of my biggest challenges is balancing my role as an architectural design teacher with my artistic practice. However, I see this as an exciting opportunity—working with students provides me with a constant source of inspiration and reflection. It keeps me engaged with evolving trends and fresh ideas, which, in turn, bring renewed clarity and creativity to my own artistic work.
In terms of plans, I aim to collaborate with creatives, developers, and brands across various industries, including fashion design, hospitality, automotive, jewelry, and even medical and technological fields, to push the boundaries of what art can be. Ultimately, I want my art to leave a lasting impact—not just as something visually beautiful but as a creation that speaks to the soul.
