Construction of Ssangyong E&C to open the ‘Royal Atlantis Hotel’ in Dubai next month

Ssangyong E&C announced on the 26th that it held a preliminary VIP invitation event for the Royal Atlantis Hotel in Dubai, which is set to be completed and officially opened early next month.

Events held on the 20th and 22nd featured Beyoncé holding her first concert since 2018. Fireworks and a DJ concert continued to warm up the atmosphere of the opening ceremony.

The event, which was organized by the owner and the hotel, provided opportunities to experience various hotel facilities, such as swimming pools, water sports, and the use of top-notch restaurants, in addition to staying in rooms.

Global SeAH Chairman Kim Woong-ki, Ssangyong Construction Chairman Kim Seok-joon, and CEO Kim Ki-myung attended as official invitations. During the business trip, a meeting was held with Ssangyong E&C's shareholders, including the Dubai Investment Authority (ICD), and the CEO of the client.

The Royal Atlantis Hotel is a large-scale project to construct 795 rooms in three 44-story hotels and 231 units in three 39-story residences on the artificial island of Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. The hotel has facilities such as 109 swimming pools and an aquarium.

This project was ordered by the Dubai Investment Authority (ICD) as the largest shareholder (currently the second largest shareholder) of Ssangyong E&C in December 2015. Ssangyong E&C jointly won an order worth 1.254 billion dollars (approximately 1.55 trillion won) with Belgian Besix as the project organizer. [Dong-A Ilbo]
